Charles Fey

This collaboration led to the production of more machines and the perfection of Fey's original design. A lighter and less expensive wood replaced the initial cast iron exterior. By the 1930s, slot machines had become popular in US casinos and along its coasts. In Las Vegas, the world's renowned gambling city, Bugsy Siegel opened the Flamingo casino, which featured lots of slot machines. This was crucial for the development of slots in the city.

As years passed, technological advancements brought appreciable improvements to slot machines. For instance, in 1963, Bally introduced the first electromechanical slot machine, which offered more payouts with higher reliability. This replaced the wooden machines. The electromechanical machines were later replaced by computerized slots. With computer slots, games could be played for fun, featuring interesting bonuses and progressive jackpots.
